The idea of this art piece is the exploring of moving ‘beyond belief’ through the use of symbolism. The cross is a symbol of belief. Here we see it begin to distort and expand out of shape. What lies beyond belief can be wide and varied and so are the shapes in this transgression of symbolism. We do not have to exist within the parameters of those beliefs given but can aspire to change and evolve within and without them. Boundaries, be them existing or man made need to be explored and pushed, broken and reformed.
